Plain-language privacy

The short version

This website does not have user accounts, does not use cookies and does not store what you type into the enquiry form. Information you choose to send through WhatsApp or email is used to respond to your enquiry.

The enquiry form

The form on the contact section does not send anything to this website’s servers and does not store your details. It can open WhatsApp or your email app with a draft, or copy the draft to your clipboard. Opening WhatsApp passes the draft to that provider so it can prepare your message; you still press Send yourself. Clipboard copies remain until you replace or clear them. No received enquiry is recorded by this website.

WhatsApp and email

If you contact SWJ Digital on WhatsApp, by phone or by email, the information you share is used to respond to you and to scope the work you are asking about. Those conversations happen on WhatsApp’s and your email provider’s platforms, which have their own privacy terms.

Analytics

This site uses Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights and Plausible Analytics, which record anonymous, aggregated information, such as which pages are visited, which campaign brought a visit here and which contact action was chosen, without using cookies. Plausible is hosted in the European Union.

It also uses PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to understand how the site is used: page visits, which contact action was chosen (WhatsApp, email or copy) and which campaign or platform brought a visit here (for example a link shared on Facebook). PostHog does not store anything in your browser: it keeps a temporary identifier in memory only while the page is open, so a later visit counts as a new one. If the site hits a technical error, PostHog also records the error and the page it happened on, so it can be fixed. None of this is used to advertise to you or to track you across other websites, and what you type into the enquiry form is never sent to analytics. Automatic click capture, dead-click capture and session recording are disabled.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to serve pages securely, as any web host does.

Your rights under POPIA

SWJ Digital handles personal information under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for visitors from Europe. Personal information you send is used only to reply to you and to scope or deliver the work you ask about, and is not sold or shared for marketing.

You can ask what personal information SWJ Digital holds about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to it being used. Write to the Information Officer below and you will get a reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
